Coordinated by THE PLAN in close collaboration with ECCA, the ECCA Award recognises outstanding contemporary architectural projects that make innovative and meaningful use of prepainted steel and aluminium as part of the building envelope at a European scale. Submissions opened in early 2025 and quickly attracted strong interest, with 44 projects submitted by architects and architectural firms from across Europe. Projects are assessed by an international jury. The evaluation focuses on graphic clarity, the integration of prepainted metal, conceptual coherence, innovation in product use and project delivery, as well as environmental and material sustainability.
